How The Ball Screw Connects The Coupling

Ball screws have high hardness and are usually cleaned after surface quenching to ensure their excellent wear resistance. The ball screw is usually connected with the drive part, and the rotation of the ball screw is directly or indirectly driven by the motor. Direct connection method can be used. That is, the output shaft of the motor is connected to the lead screw through a special elastic coupling, and the transmission ratio is 1; the motor can also be connected to the lead screw through other transmission links, such as synchronous belts, gears, etc.

    Advantages of coupling ball screws:

    1. It is easy to install, does not require high positional accuracy, has a good ability to compensate for the comprehensive offset of the two axes, and allows the axis declination angle ≤ 1°30'.

    2. Stable transmission, high efficiency and long service life. For low speed, heavy load, frequent forward and reverse rotation and shock load, the effect is more obvious.

    3. The maintenance is simple, only one fatliquoring is required at normal temperature, and the fatliquoring cycle is 3-6 months at high temperature.

    4. Compared with similar gear couplings, it has large transmission torque, wide application range and low cost.

At present, the ball screw and the coupling are mostly connected by a flexible coupling profile, but there are also key connections and rigid couplings. This is determined according to the use requirements and installation technical capabilities.
