Product Details

A ball screw is a mechanical device for translating rotational motion to linear motion. A threaded shaft gives a spiral raceway for ball bearings which act as a precision screw. As well as being able to apply or withstand high thrust loads they can do so with minimum internal friction. They are made to shut tolerances and are therefore suitable for use in situations in which high precision is necessary. The ball assembly acts as the nut whilst the threaded shaft is the screw.

Ball screw, free-rolling ball force and motion passed between the screw and nut, this drive instead of a direct role in the way the traditional threaded screw vice screw and nut minimal rolling friction instead of sliding friction of the conventional screw, and notably reduces the friction so that the ball screw transmission effectivity extensively improved. The ball screw drive system is a point contact rolling motion, with low frictional resistance, excessive sensitivity, no chattering when starting, and no crawling at low speeds, so it can exactly control the micro feed.
