Factors That Cause Wear Of Linear Bearings

As an important part of machinery, the linear bearing will directly affect the accuracy, life, safety and reliability of the whole machine. Linear bearings are generally composed of a bearing body and a softening system. During operation, the journal rotates in the bearing to drive a dynamic pressure oil film in the form of lubricating oil. The pressure of the oil film and the external load cancel each other out to support and ensure the flexible rotation of the journal. Therefore, the research on the monitoring of the bearing working state and the fault diagnosis technology has practical significance, and the fault diagnosis is becoming an important measure to ensure the normal and reliable operation of the machinery. However, the use of a bearing for a long time will also cause wear and tear. What are the reasons for the wear of this linear bearing? The main reasons for the wear of the linear bearing are as follows:

1) The foreign matter has entered the bearing through the poorly sealed device (or sealing ring).

2) Improper lubrication. For example, the impurities in the lubricating oil are not filtered clean, the lubrication method is poor, the lubricant is improperly selected, and the lubricant is deteriorated.

3) The material particles on the contact surface of the part are detached.

4) Corrosion. For example, rust is formed due to condensed water caused by temperature changes in bearings, corrosive substances of additives in lubricants, etc.
